Reading: Students have been told from the beginning of the year to ALWAYS have a silent reading chapter book in their backpack. There will be a preparation check TOMORROW, Thursday, October 11, during reading class. ALL teachers expect students to have a 6th grade level (or higher) reading book at all times in their backpack. Graphic Novels (comic strip) and magazines are not allowed for this requirement.

Science:  Pixton Comic due Friday Oct. 12 (or Saturday before 6:00 pm) Re-take test tonight on Edmodo. Re-take vocabulary tomorrow during class.

Math: Homework 2-7. Area of a complex figure. Due 10/11

Social Studies:  Complete the people vocabulary paper using your social studies textbook.  Due tomorrow -- Thursday.

Oral Poem Performance: "The Road Not Taken."   Performances continue this week.   Students should have memorized it  LOUD, SLOW, and CLEAR. Remember to use expression as you perform.

Reading: "A Kind of Grace" questions 1-7 on page 468. Students MUST answer the questions in complete sentences, with the question IN the sentences. That means when I read the answer, I will know exactly what the question was while I read it. This is due tomorrow, Friday, October 5. I will come around to collect them. Spelling test Monday!! 


Math: Area of Triangle- Homework and Remembering 2-4, Due 10/8.

Social Studies:   A progress note was sent home today.  It included any missing homework assignments

Science:  Science TEST on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Pixton Comic due Oct. 12 or Saturday before 6:00 pm. Design a comic that compares and contrasts CONDUCTION and CONVECTION. Make sure to have four facts. Write complete sentences. Proof your comic for capitalization, punctuation, spelling and grammar. Use the CLASSIC three frame comic. If you would like to accept the challenge, you must have permission from Ms. King PRIOR to making a larger comic.
